PR Newswire Asia Holds New Media Training in Beijing

PR Newswire Asia held a training session on New Media Communications to discuss the use of popular new media communications tools, and also to explore the impact of new media on marketing and communications. The four guest speakers were Mr. Fan Wang from Sina Micro-blog, Mr. Xinyu Liu, Editor-in-Chief of China Newsweek, Mr. Vincent Lee, Director of Digital Strategy, Edleman PR, and Mr. Lynn Liu, Senior Media Relations Executive of PRN Asia. The speakers shared their insights on new media communications with over 120 marketing and PR professionals.

The event, co-hosted by China International Public Relations Association (CIPRA), hosted attendees from a wide range of organizations, including Air China, MacDonald’s, Lenovo, the Hoffman Agency, and Sinotrust. The journalists from China Business News Weekly, Global Entrepreneur and Business Value also joined the discussion. Ms. Jingwen Wang, Director of Membership of CIPRA, presented the opening speech at the beginning of the training.

                          

New Media Communications Training

Many PR and marketing professionals care about the use of Sina Micro-blogs, the most popular new media platform, as a tool of marketing or PR campaigns. Ms. Ying Miao, General Manager of Business Cooperation of Sina Micro-blog, introduced business development strategies of Sina Micro-blog. Mr. Fan Wang from Sina presented the history of Sina Micro-blog and Mirco-blog marketing cases. Mr. Wang believes that the micro-blog shaped the development of corporate communications soon after its launch, and saw lots of success stories. Mr. Vincent Lee from Edelman PR shared his tips on utilizing different types of social media as marketing tools, and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing efforts. He noted that companies should choose the right channels to disseminated company information and be people-oriented during the communication process with their clients because new media is not the magic pill for corporate communications.
